I wrote my first full-length picture book when I was in elementary school. I wrote my first full-length fantasy novel when I was 13. I promised my first love I'd write a novel about it at 15. I finished my memoir at 17. I wrote love letters at 19, and again at 21. I wrote deployment letters at 23, and again at 25. I wrote motherhood reflections at 27. I wrote about the future at 29, about escaping at 31, about breaking to pieces through heartbreak at 32. I wrote about maintaining a lifelong lie at 33, about what it took to find courage to admit to that lie at 34, and about the consequences of that at 35. Now, at 36, I am writing about the peace that follows healing. Each, its own piece to my series project, "How the F&ck Did I Get Here?"
I'm passionate about the healing potential of journaling, yet I recognize it can be a challenging habit to develop, especially for those facing similar struggles as I did. By sharing my own experiences and thoughts openly, I hope to guide and support others in their moments of feeling lost, offering a path towards healing and self-discovery.
My work intertwines spoken word with music, creating an immersive experience that invites audiences to deeply feel and reflect. Through this fusion, I hope to facilitate a journey of emotional exploration and self-discovery, using the power of voice and melody as a guide to unlocking inner reflections and healing.
Although I haven't mastered playing an instrument, music is deeply ingrained in my development. I cherish collaborating with musicians, whether it's in production, songwriting, uncovering hidden talents, or curating music for projects. Bringing new creative works to life with these artists is a truly fulfilling aspect of my creative journey.
